Practice

  • We facilitate storytelling with community members and curate audio and photographs to tell a community’s story and contextualize planning issues and solutions. We create impactful physical or online installations from these curated works.

  • We take an ethnographic approach to community engagement where we center the lived experiences of people and facilitate welcoming and culturally appropriate spaces. We meet people where they are through partnerships with community groups and leaders; we provide tools for art-making and storytelling for the community to share their vision and recommendations. We are skilled facilitators and analytical planners who can translate community stories into tangible strategies.

  • Pueblo Planning works with partners to co-develop policy and planning recommendations rooted in equity, inclusion, and justice. We are systems thinkers and utilize a multi-disciplinary approach to address the complex and intersectional nature of policy and planning decisions.

  • Pueblo Planning conducts literature reviews, analyzes quantitative and qualitative data, reviews current and past plans and reports, and assesses best practices to inform the planning process. We also research local history, society, culture, and current lived experience to shape our community engagement strategy. Partners and community members who participate continue to shape our research, strategy, and process.

  • We provide workshops, training, and other speaking services on a variety of topics including ethnographic art projects, community engagement, participatory methods, integration of social and racial justice in planning processes and outcomes, and critical race theory’s application to planning history and practice. We provide engaging, meaningful, and dynamic workshops for a wide range of learning styles and abilities with the goal to leave audience members feeling inspired, empowered, and ready for action.

  • We design interactive displays for effective community engagement. Additionally, we work with the community to build and design popular and political education materials that help their movement.
